OCC are pleased to announce the release of SPOCC 7.0. The key new features of this release include:
- Support for generation of Letters, allowing you to define any number of custom mail-merge documents or letters for Clients, Providers, Properties, Contracts, etc.
- Role based permissions allow you to create predefined security roles (e.g. Contracts Officer) that you can apply to a SPOCC user instantly, without fiddling with individual permissions.
- Contact assignments can now be made entirely through the Contacts screen, without having to switch to all the various Organisations, Services or Contracts involved.
- Imports and Exports are now more secure and provide a new, friendly wizard interface that guides the user through the process.
- Service Level units have moved to Pricing Schedules, allowing you to monitor the change of contracted units over time.
- New Extended PI reports give you a clear summary of all PIs in SPOCC (including LPIs).
- Scheduled processes (tasks) now run in a Windows Service allowing for more reliable, secure and configurable scheduling of imports and exports.
- The Client duplicates screen is now clearer and more specific about your options when handling duplicate Clients in SPOCC.
- QAF Lite is now supported for Small Providers, Community Alarm and Sole Traders.
- SQL Server 2005 is now supported.
SPOCC.Net 7.0 key features include:
- Providers can now edit and submit changes to the personal details of a client on their Services.
- Providers can now request changes in assignment for their SPOCC.Net users (Contacts), effectively allowing them to maintain their own users.
- Including/Excluding non-current items on the Client Details and Client Schedules tabs is now quicker and simpler.
- QAF Lite and QAFs for multiple Services are now supported.
- Many other user interface improvements.
We have also created a brand new SPOCC Technical Guide, which contains all the information your IT staff will need when performing SPOCC upgrades and patches. It also includes a wide range of useful supporting information and should be read fully by the staff performing upgrades to SPOCC and its components.
The upgrade comes in four parts:
- SPOCC Windows Client v7.0.0.4. This needs to be installed on all client machines. It will happily coexist with previous major versions of the SPOCC client (e.g. SPOCC 6.0, 6.1). We strongly recommend that you carry out this installation before upgrading any of the other components.
- SPOCC Database Server v7.0. This is a series of scripts to be run against your SPOCC database. Once your database is upgraded, it can only be accessed by the SPOCC v7.0 client.
- SPOCC.Net Web Application v7.0.0.4. Once the database is upgraded, this version of SPOCC.Net is required to access it. Of course, this only applies to LAs with a SPOCC.Net installation.
- SPOCC Scheduler Windows Service v7.0.0.4. This is a new component that is required for SPOCC's revamped process scheduling, it should be installed on a high-uptime PC or Server and requires a secure domain user to run, as described in the SPOCC Technical Guide.
Each of these components, along with the new SPOCC Technical Guide, containing full installation instructions, is available for download from our support site (
