SPOCC Social

I recently approached OCC with a request for the Clients area of SPOCC to allow security access to be split between the main client profile area and the updates of scheduled services and HB.
My thoughts were that this would allow general admin of adding clients, updating their ID's and personal details by members of staff in an admin role without having access to the services and HB which would in turn calculate payments and without the correct level of knowledge and experience could be updated/added incorrectly and cause problems with payments being made to providers.

Unfortuantely OCC have suggested this is not a priority and would need more interest from other LA's in order to review the work required to implement this.

Would this be of benefit to any of your own teams?

We have been discussing a similar issue here this afternoon when looking at what other areas of SPOCC.net we can get our providers to use (at the moment they are just uploading PI workbooks).

Our issue is that our sheltered housing schemes all sit within the same contract so anyone with access can see details for every scheme. We would like the wardens to take on the client elements but arent yet sure whether their managers would be happy for them to see the details etc for every other scheme or whether it was possible to set access permissions so they could only view/edit their own scheme.

Slightly different to your request but along the same lines I think.

In SPOCC go the Tools menu and select System Options and then select the SPOCC.Net tab. On this tab is list box entitled "Providers with limited access to services via SPOCC.Net".

If you add a provider to this list then any contact that logs into SPOCC.Net will only have access to services where they have been assign a role on the service, e.g. Emergency contact, they're the organisation contact, they're the contract contact on a contract the service is involved in. New to version 7 services have a new type of role that can be set "SPOCC.Net Managers" - you get set as many as you like for a service. As you'd expect any contact added to this will be able to access the details of the service.

We in Hampshire do not use the Clients part of the system as we have all block gross contracts but we have asked OCC about the possibility of having Actions as a separate item in the permissions lists as we would like those unable to manage contracts to be able to add actions but in the present set up this is not possible. We have been advised that this would 'cost' four days of support so I wonder if there are any others out there who would appreciate this facility?
